LEADERSHIP: SEVEN ACTS OF SERVICE

As a Leadership Team we have been looking at the following seven acts of service. These are very challenging questions and are worth working through.
‘The risen Christ beckons [leaders] to the ministry of the towel’ (service) – Richard Foster
The service of guarding the reputation of others
How can I avoid backbiting and gossip during the coming week?
The service of being served
How can I avoid the prideful act of refusing to allow myself to be served?
The service of common courtesy
What act of compassion can I perform this week?
The service of hospitality
How can I offer the generosity of a room, meal or simple friendship?
Who needs my listening ear this week?
The service of bearing the burdens of another
Do I know a person who is struggling with hurt and suffering? How can I help?
The service of sharing the ‘word of life’ with another – hearing God for others
Is there someone I know for whom I strongly believe God would like to whisper a blessing?
Can I help by making a time of solitude available, or by providing encouragement from God?
The service of being interrupted
Why not allow someone to interrupt what you have planned for the day and give them your time and energy?
